Safety Tips

• Share your plan — tell someone your route and expected return time. Coverage is unreliable on most trails.
• Respect the altitude — ascend gradually; headache, nausea or dizziness means descend, not push on.
• Check the forecast — mountain weather changes fast and can make a familiar route dangerous.
• Carry extra water — treat or filter anything you collect from streams.
• Dress in layers — broken-in boots with grip; temperatures swing between sun, shade and nightfall.
• Don't trek alone — hire a local guide on remote or unfamiliar routes.
• Know when to turn back — reaching the top is optional; getting back is not.
• Pack the essentials — first-aid kit, torch, power bank, and emergency numbers saved offline.
